Update: 6/28/11: HRW has asked
an arborist to schedule inspection of trees on right side
entrance on Buffaloe. The tornado damage has delayed the
inspection. The stump and dead tree have been removed at the
pond. New flowers have been planted in the monument at
entrance.
HRW is pleased to announce that new
Associa Access website enhancements are now available at
www.hrw.net. As a
registered user, homeowners will continue to have access to
real-time account information 24/7. This convenient service
allows you to view your account balance, transaction history
and more. You will be able to tell exactly when your checks
have cleared or your credit card payments have been
processed. One of the newest features allows homeowners to
have the option of being alerted when account activity
occurs, such as the confirmation of a payment received, or
when a charge is placed on your account.

Winter 2009
Dear
Homeowners,
Autumn has passed and this was the time of year when we
needed to seed and fertilize our lawns for beautiful
lush grass in the Spring. You may still need to consider
thatching any dead grass or weeds as well as aerating to
provide a healthy foundation for your lawn to flourish.
Please remain aware of the
City of Raleigh’s current water
restrictions and abide by them while taking steps
to get growing for Spring.
We all need to continue to make every effort to ensure our
neighborhood is a beautiful, safe place to live. In
addition to our grass lawns, those of us who have added
flowerbeds or nature areas need to maintain them to keep
them weed free. Unfortunately, several flowerbeds and
nature areas in the neighborhood have become weed gardens.
Please take advantage of this beautiful weather to get the
weeds out and enjoy some time outside!
In addition to yards, please be advised that there
are other areas throughout the neighborhood that need
attention and will merit violations and fines if not
resolved.
q
Per the
neighborhood bylaws, all mailboxes are to be black metal
or plastic
with neatly painted white posts. Address numbers are
also to be rust free and in good repair. Please take a
moment to examine your post for any defects and repair as
necessary.
q
It each homeowner’s responsibility to make sure that the
side walks and curb areas in front of your home are weed
free. Please note that weeding and edging of your
driveway, sidewalk and curbside is considered regular
landscaping maintenance. If weeds continue to grow in
sidewalk or driveways, they may crack the pavement and
require costly repairs.
q
Cars should only be parked in driveways and in
appropriate areas on the street. Cars on or blocking
sidewalks will be reported to the Raleigh Police Department
and tickets will be issued. As the sign states in the front
of the neighborhood “We love our kids” and we should not be
blocking sidewalks for their safety.
If you notice such an occurrence and would like to
report a violation, please call the non-emergency number at
(919) 890-3335. We need to do our part in keeping this
neighborhood safe for children and walkers by keeping them
from having to walk in the street when someone not
considerate enough to follow the local city parking
ordinances blocks the sidewalk.
q
Cars are not to be parked in the front, back or side
yards for any period of time and will receive violation
letters from the Homeowner’s Association. This is not
acceptable for any reason, and not the overall appearance
our neighborhood is striving to achieve. Please feel free
to email HRW at www.hrw.net anytime you witness such an
event.

q
Some homes in the neighborhood are starting to show green
and/or black mold on the more shaded sides of the house.
These homes need to be pressure washed immediately
before damage sets in and siding needs to be replaced. It
is much cheaper to clean the mold now than to replace siding
that is stained from neglect.
Products can be purchased to bring your faded
shutters back to life. Google the subject on the
internet for more information. These products really work
and can save money by not having to replace shutters.
Our homes are our most valuable investment aside from our
health and families. Please take steps now to insure your
family is residing in a clean, safe and beautiful
neighborhood that will continue to maintain and appreciate
in value for years to come!
q
Telephone
books and newspapers that are dropped in your yard, but
may not be appreciated, are still the responsibility of the
Homeowner to dispose of properly. Accumulating such pieces
in a driveway makes for an unsightly mess that must be
addressed.
There is a year-round
phone book recycling collection next to the Food Lion in the
Mini City shopping center on Capital Blvd. If you take a
trip to get rid of phone book, ask a neighbor if they want
you to bring theirs, too.
Our Homeowners Association, HRW, Inc. has noted the houses
with the above issues and will be sending out violation
letters as necessary. Please try to avoid any fines by
correcting violations as quickly as possible.
Below are the numbers to call for the major distributors of
phone books and yellow pages. Call the numbers and tell
them you want to opt-out of delivery - it takes a few
minutes and will make our driveways happy!
-AT&T/Yellow Pages (formerly SBC and
BellSouth): 800-792-2665
-Verizon (Idearc): 800-888-8448
-Dex: 877-243-8339
-Yellow Book: 800-373-3280 or 800-373-2324

the web address for the
Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center.
Please note the pool schemes are available to view on this
site and construction is anticipated to begin the first
quarter of 2010, with the facility slated to open Summer
2011.
It is an indoor
facility primarily with a splash ground emphasis. The plans
describe a water slide, vortex, a current channel, various
play structures and some lap lanes. Bookmark this site and
check back for further updates as they progress.
